Turn a terracotta pot into a ‘willow’ pattern inspired vintage pot thanks to the magic art of stamping and stencilling! I wanted a lovely blue and white ‘willow’ patterned urn to display some gorgeous blue and white hydrangeas and because I couldn’t find one to suit or within my budget, I solved the issue by simply painting a terracotta pot, mixing a bit of paint and stencilling/stamping the exterior. The whole project was super easy and the result, stunning & the best part, it is exactly the sized desired and seriously so inexpensive!

Things to gather:
- Terracotta pot in a size to suit
- White chalk paint for the exterior surface of the pot, or see my video on how to make chalk paint: https://youtu.be/Fl_IW7P7X4o
- Décor Stamps - you can buy them on line or from good craft stores: https://amzn.to/2PFrYF0
- Water based acrylic paint – I used cobalt blue with a little black mixed in to deepen the tonal value of the paint
- Roller and paint tray
- Water for clean-up

If your surface is rounded like the terracotta pot I used, then a couple of old towels rolled up & wedged firmly at the sides will help stop the pot from rolling around.

To really speed up the process, I find the oven set to a low temperature (100 C/200 F), is perfect to speed up the drying time.
