This design is for Debbie’s dear Dad who is now in full care. She wanted a tallest design incorporating red magnolia, a bit of drippy drapey ivy and a few berries, & whatever I thought might give the arrangement a touch of the Christmas spirit and once the holidays were over, these could be removed. Here goes Debbie and I hope your Dad loves it!

Things to gather:
I used a tall slender vase which I painted black to give the design a bit of visual stability.
The chalk paint recipe I used is –
- 1/3 cup plaster of Paris
- 1/3 cup water
- Mix and blend well, then add 1 cup flat matt black acrylic paint.
- Apply two coats allow to dry between each.

- 3 x red magnolia
- 2 x Ivy plants – you might also need to bamboo stick. The ivy has short stems and by fixing the sticks to the ivy, this will ensure they stay in place and don’t full out of the container.
- 2 x deep burgundy rose hips
- 3 x red holly berry
