East meets West: Floral design of Bougainvillea, Peonies & Magnolia

Is it the cold, is it the air, is it the blue of the sky? I’m not sure but the colours of the bougainvillea, the depth of pinks of the peonies & magnolia all heightened the senses.

I saw this combination together in many floral designs and have utilised the free form placement into a traditional blue and white Ming-inspired container.

Note: all these flowers necessary are out of my growing season, so I’ve opted to use artificial blooms.

Things to gather:
- Blue & white Ming inspired container in a size to suit
- Several stems of pinky purple bougainvillea
- 3 large bright pink peonies
- 2 branches of purple white magnolia & because I felt there was something lacking, I’ve incorporated a few deep blue berry sprigs to tie the design back into the colour way of the container.
