Sheetrock ceiling stipple is a texture that is applied to ceilings mainly for simplicity sake. The ceiling is not very enjoyable to finish smooth by sanding because the dust falls on you and gets in your eyes. That’s why contractors apply stipple because it doesn’t require sanding of the ceiling. I for some reason told a friend of the family that I would remove the stipple from her ceiling and I’m hoping I don’t have a nightmare about it tonight. It is a mess
